Hi I’m Claire and I teach Musical Steps classes in and around St Albans, Herts. I qualified as an NNEB nursery nurse in 1991 and have worked with young children in different settings ever since then, from day nurseries, childminding, supporting children with special educational needs and I worked in a school nursery class for 6 years. Music is my passion in life and wherever I’ve worked with young children I’ve been making music with them and helping them to enjoy it to the full. I also write, compose and perform my own children’s songs and I’ve made a CD called Good Natured Music. I’m delighted to be able to bring the pleasure of making music to more young children together with their parents and carers in our local community and look forward to seeing you at Musical Steps!Classes cost £5 and £2.50 for second child joining in (eg twins or close siblings)

I also run “drop in” classes on Thursday mornings 10.30am-11.10am at DJ’s Jungle Adventure. Pay on the door £6 which also includes soft play after the music class. (Sorry I can’t offer a free class for these sessions as they are drop in classes.)

Staff have been amazed at how good each group is at learning to keep a steady beat. Staff are now going to extend these music session experiences by providing similar instruments for the children to be able to use during child initiated play.
